Football4Profit: News- Horse Racing: British Classic The 5th and final British Classic has been resurrected by two of horse racing’s most opposite big battalions. Coolmore and Godolphin are the two responsible for the Leger glory. The race was having extreme troubles a little over a decade ago. Dreams of breeding middle distance stars by owners invariably pushed the Doncaster Race to the back of their minds. Needless to say, the big battalions, Coolmore and Godolphin, have won 6 of the last 10 runnings. Most historians will verify that a large ercentage of Derby placed horses- otherwise known as Classsic winners- have won at this race, too. One of the headliners is Aiden O’Brien who is chasing the world record of 25 Group one triumphs in one year. The other headliner is an ironic betting situation for most men of chance. Sir Michael Stoute is a trainer who has yet to saddle a winner of the final Classic. Paktai truly seemed like the one to bet on, especially considering his amazing win in the two mile Queen’s Vase at Royal Ascot, however his inexcusable performance in the Great Voltiegeur has put some doubt in his so-called guaranteed win. The conduit is now receiving some of the winners spotlight because of his last to first victory over 10 furongs at Epsom. Even so, his success has been cut short by his following it up with a disappointing second place at Royal Ascot for the King Edward Stakes. His performance wasn’t nearly as exciting in bearing down on handicapper Donegal in the Gordon Stakes at Goodwood. Town Moor, however, holds more promise within the long & straight track- the difference could mean the world to Ryan Moore’s preference of bursting in from the rear in the last possible seconds. Frozen Fire, mount at the lead for the Tartan Bearer’s Irish Derby, is still currently holding the position of favourite despite a good 6 competitors staying close on the heels for the Coolmore Challenge. Despite their pursuit, it may turn out unlikely they’ll come out on top: Frozen Fire stands formidable with a tremendous 11 length win in the Epsom Derby and a head in the Dante Stakes. Two times he has come in just behind Tartan Bearer, and cma eout on top of the world at Curragh. Overall odds on Frozen Fire are 5/1 across bookies; in the meantime, Alessandro Volta, despite being the key in hampering Tartan Bearer by maneuvering (weaving), is at close odds with his stablemate. Washington Irving has fallen from favor by following up his good faith 5th place at the Epsom with a tired and mildly embarrassing last place in the Irish equal. His chance to redeem himself at a recent Leopardstown ended in defeat as well. On the other side of the track, sits Godolphin- with only the solitary horse, but more than folly luck is riding with Camptologist: who’s won the Feilden Stakes, and took Conduit at Royal Ascot on a mile and a half. True, he was recently outpointed by Volta and the King of Rome at Lingfield, but it doesn’t diminish his credentials. Sheikh Mohammed, chief for Godolphin, has 7 of the races’ titles in his possession throughout his career, and his intention is to make it eight. The odds are a curious 20/1 for the pair, unusual considering all the team has going for it, especially pending Coolmore’s tendency to focus on Stoute’s competition. Outside, there are a precious few to add to the spice of the event. Centennial is lacking compared to last year’s golden trainer John Gosden and the Voltigeur champ has been consistently outridden. The strongest female competitiors are not worth your money- Look Here hasn’t behaved herself since June, eliminating her chances. And Unsung Heroine is still too green to be seriously considered, having only two wins under her saddle. New To Sports Betting Online? New To Betting in General? |
