Football4Profit: News- Transfers in Football

Twenty-nine year old French international Pascal Chimbonda has followed in Tainio’s footsteps in terms of moving to Sunderland. The multitalented defender has signed, reportedly, a three year deal for an undisclosed fee, moving him from Tottenham Hotspur to their Premier League rivals’ club: manager Roy Keane’s Sunderland.   Wednesday marked the transfer of another teammate, Teemu Tainio, making two switches in less than a week- and Keane may not be finished. It seems Keane may also have his eye on another Frenchman, Younes Kaboul, and midfielder Steed Malbranque as well.

In the German Bundesliga, both injuries and transfers have teams on the move. Dortmund will be out Brazilian defensive midfielder Dede as the player has recently torn ligaments in  his left knee during the Bundesliga opening round. The player will undergo surgery this week to repair the damage, which occurred Saturday during the team’s 3-2 win at Bayer Leverkusen, and will be out of play for at least six months.

Mladen Petric has been traded between rivals following an unspecified contract signing. Dortmund has put up the Croatia striker to league competitors Hamburger, in exchange for forward Mohamed Zidan plus additional funds in an unknown amount. Petric stands as last season’s top goalmaker for the team, earning them 13 goals. He’ll be with Hamburg for four years; Zidan also has signed a contract for four years.

Dario Simic will be transferred from Milan to Monaco for an undisclosed fee. The contract between the Croatia defender and the club is set for two years. The 32-year set a record with Croatia, having been asked to play 99 times, though his participation dropped somewhat last season. Simic will be a hearty addition to Monaco’s lineup, especially following the injuries sustained by defenders Leandro and Adriano Cufre; the two will be out of commission for six weeks after having suffered hurts during the weekend’s opening Ligue1 game, which ended in victory against Paris Saint-Germain.

Cesar Sanchez will be making the transfer from Zaragoza to Tottenham, after a deal was struck this week. The Spanish veteran will be the second goalkeeper in for the team in the last two months. The fee was undisclosed. The transfer will not uproot Heurelho Gomes, rather Sanchez has been signed on to play backup for the Brazilian. The transfer is follow-up to one made at the end of June for Gomes, coming from PSV Eindhoven, following Paul Robinson’s having been sold to the Blackburn Rovers. Zaragoza has laid claim to Sanchez for the last three years; previously having been a goalkeeper for the club Real Madrid.

The Los Angeles Galaxy have lost their head coach, Ruud Gullit, to resignation due to personal reasons. They’ve also lost their president and general manager Alexi Lalas, because of the team’s failing performances on the field. The Galaxy, despite the hype surrounding football superstar David Beckham, are caught up in a, so far, seven game losing streak and currently are in 11th place in the 14 team standings. Thirty-seven year old Cobi Jones will be taking over as head coach for the interim; Jones played his entire career for the Galaxy and has been employed since his retirement last season as first assistant.

The Rangers are now playing sans centre-back Carlos Cuellar, now that his transfer to Aston Villa has been finalized. The 26-year old will receive €10 for the move. The Spanish defender has been playing with the Rangers since his transfer to the Scots from Osasuna. Within the 36 Scottish Premier League matches he participated in last season, he scored four goals for his club. He also contributed to 19 games on the Rangers’ way to the UEFA Cup Final. He will be playing with Aston Villa for the next four years, according to his new contract.

Premiership rivals will have both enjoyed the courtship of French defender Younes Kaboul by the end of this season; the 22-year old has completed his one year stint with Tottenham Hotspur and has signed a contract with Portsmouth for a fee undisclosed to the media. It has been hypothesized that the centre-back could run as much as €7.7m for a decent transfer. Last year marked Kaboul’s move from Auxerre to Tottenham for the amount of €12. During his stay he was able to score three goals over 21 appearances in Premier League games. He has signed on for the next four years with Portsmouth.

Cristiano Ronaldo may be facing a semi-hostile reception from fans as the drama revolved around his choice of team for next season. It seems like the longest running transfer talks may be finally over with Ronaldo choosing to stay with Manchester United for this next season, but trying at the same time to keep his options open with Real Madrid for upcoming seasons. Seems a bit greedy to us, but who’re we to say? Ronaldo’s next battle will be with his public and trying to keep good rapport with them for what could be his last year for the Portugal goal-maker at Manchester. Manger for Ronaldo, Alex Ferguson has spoken up in his defence, and Ronaldo himself has issued an apology for causing trouble between the two clubs.
In either case, Ronaldo may not even be playing at the start of the new season, as he is still recovering from an ankle injury; he’s expected back in October. Teammate Wayne Rooney is back Friday from a virus infection.

Argentinian midfielder Aldo Duscher has signed a three-year contract with Sevilla. The 29-year old will be coming from Real Racing Club Santander to the Andalusian side. He performed well last year for Santander, scoring five goals for the club in 34 league games after having being capped three times by Argentina.
