Football4Profit: News- Injuries

Amine Chermiti, the Tunisian international forward for Hertha has been given 3 months sick leave after the 20 year old tore ligaments in his left knee during Thursday’s 1 – 0 win over IB Ljubljana. Coach Lucien Favre had suspected the worst after seeing the damage Chermiti’s leg was in. "This is really bad. He has been caught really badly. We think he tore ligaments," He was quoted in saying a few moments after the game. After receiving proper medical treatment Chermiti’s and his coach’s worst fears had come to life. Chermiti had tore ligaments and was told to stay out of the game for 10 weeks.

In the 27th minute of Friday night’s 2 – 0 victory over Karlsruhe, Captain Umit Ozat fell onto the field and lost consciousness. Without hesitation, Ozat was treated by the medics and then was quickly removed from the field on a stretcher about 5 minutes later. Michael Meier, the general manager, took to the field at halftime and informed the crowd and the audience at home that the 31 year old Ozat had gone to the hospital and was now able to communicate. After the game, coach Christoph Daum told the press that Ozat was stable and it does not seem to be as dramatic a situation as everyone might have feared.

Melvin Mora, the Orioles third baseman, strained his left hamstring on Friday night. That night the Orioles were playing against Tampa Bay. Mora was hurt while trying to beat a grounder with two on and two out in the third. Because of his dedication he strained himself and had to leave the game in order to seek proper care for his injury. The Orioles have gone on record to say that Mora is day to day and that they do not know when he will return. Mora is hitting .393 with 12 homers and 49 RBIs since the All-Star break.

An unexplainable irritation in your right elbow can really be irritating. Such is the case with Josh Beckett who was scrapped from the Boston Red Sox lineup again after what seems to be slowly becoming a serious mysterious injury occurring in his right elbow. If the irritation does turn into something serious this could be a devastating blow to the Red Sox, who are trying to repeat their champion status as they did at last years World Series. The Red Sox lead the AL wild card race after completing a 6 – 3 road trip. Beckett was the 2003 World Series MVP with Florida and he has not pitched since August 17. That was when he reported numbness and tingling in his right arm. Beckett is 11 – 9 with a 4.34 ERA this year.
