Football4Profit: News- Pietersen Rocks the Odds Following England’s one day series and victory over South Africa, odds across the board have been slashed for next season’s Ashes by Blue Square. The group has been cut down from 5/2 to 9/4 odds to win the competition. They’re not the only ones, though, as Kevin Pietersen’s troupe have also come down from 7’s to 6/1 odds to win the World Cup. November’s event- the Stanford Twenty20- have them at 8/11 down from 5/6. Blue Square is offering 50/1 odds that England will continue undefeated through the remainder of the season under Pietersen’s leadership. They’re not the only bookmakers of the opinion, either as Stan James have dropped their odds from 9/1 down to 6/1 to win the next World Cup. “I don't think even the most ardent Pietersen fan would have anticipated the improvement England have shown under the new skipper," George Primarolo, a spokesperson for Blue Square has been reported as saying. “Bookmakers all over the country were as delighted as anyone when KP took over as it brought a renewed interest in cricket betting but the longer this winning streak goes on, the more it's costing us so we're beginning to change our tune a little.”
