Football4Profit: News- Premiership

The bookies are staying right on top of things, offering the chances for each of the three sides that will be most likely to be eliminated from the Premiership. The teams consist of those that were promoted from the Championship last year, and therefore stand as the favourite teams to fail on their first try. According to the odds, it seems to be general consensus that West Brom stands the best chance of staying. Bet 365 has them at odds of 7/1 to be the first to go, and Sportingbet is offering 5/4 on the same. As last year’s Championship winners, they may be in a better position to stay within the Premiership. Though they’ve recently released Kevin Phillips, who contributed to the club’s success with plenty of goals scored, his game play recently has been right on par with the Championship level, rather than Premier. They’ve brought on Scott Carson, previously a goalkeeper for England, Luke Moore from Aston Villa, and Marek Cech from FC Porto. The three player stand as a good beginning for West Brom to make themselves a place in the new league, but they’ll definitely need more assistance.
Stoke City came in as runners up last year at the Championship, which earned them an automatic advancement to the Premiership. They seem to have the heart to stay in the league, but their team members are another thing to consider- Bet 365 has them at 15/8 odds to go down, and Paddy Power sits at 4/9 for them to finish bottom. The largest concern for Stoke is where do they intend to earn their goals? Finishing with 20 goals a season is a challenge, and their new addition of Dave Kitson from Reading can’t do it on his own. If they intend to stick around, they’ll have to ensure that they develop an impenetrable defense to keep the rest of the league from outscoring them.
Finally, we have Hull City. They came through as a surprise last season during the Championship, and to many’s shock, earned their promotion through the playoffs. Typically speaking, those clubs that earn their promotion through the playoffs will struggle in the Premiership- and the bookmakers don’t think Hull City will be able to rise to the challenge: Stan James has them at 6/4 to fail, and William Hill is offering 4/11 to finish bottom. Hull may have a notion of the underdog position they’re sitting in, and seem to be trying to counteract their chances by trading heavily in recent weeks. They’ve brought in seven players already. They’ve collected a couple of Premiership veterans in Antony Gardner, and George Boateng, but may have difficulty earning themselves goals, like Stoke City, relying mostly on Dean Windass. Depending on if they can get anymore goal-makers on the team before they begin, they might surprise the crowd again this season, and stay up, as Ladbrokes is offering 5/2 for them to do.  Bet 365 is also offering a combined price for the three teams- West Brom, Stoke City and Hull City- to all go down at 3/1 odds.
